About Widehorizons Outdoor Education Trust
Widehorizons Outdoor Education Trust is a leading provider of high quality Outdoor Education for schools, continuing education, youth groups and the wider community.
A vast range of outdoor, adventurous, and environmental activities at 6 different residential and non-residential Centres across the UK deliver courses that support the curriculum, build confidence, and inspire and motivate individuals and teams to develop.
The Trust aims to:
- Extend the opportunities for outdoor learning not only within schools but within the workplace and the wider community to promote active and healthy citizens
- Work with schools, colleges and employers to use our outdoor facilities to promote emotional intelligence, developing self esteem and confidence and problem solving and team building skills.
To deliver that vision it is essential that we are innovative, striving for the highest quality and range of courses. We must maximise the potential of the Charity to be inclusive and accessible to our diverse, multicultural community. We are investing in our facilities and buildings to make them modern and comfortable places to learn and live in.
Widehorizons receives no funding from the government and only 10% of its income from local councils. They make every effort to keep their fees to an absolute minimum to ensure that they are accessible to every child, and they are reliant on the generosity of donors to keep their operations going.
